The children of Luz Y Vida need your help!

35 Years of Light & Life
On February 2, 2026, Hogares Luz y Vida, The Home of Light and Life orphanage in Bogotá, Colombia, marks 35 years of care. Founded by Sister Valeriana García Martín, the home began in a dirt-floor garage sheltering four blind children. Today it’s a loving residence and therapy center for 215+ orphaned and vulnerable children and adults with disabilities.
Since 2009, the Light and Life Foundation has stood with this mission — to serve the children of Hogares Luz y Vida through donations, outreach, visits, and relationship.

Next Milestone: Bring a 42-bed chronic care unit to life—built, equipped, and fully staffed—steps from the orphanage.

Our mission is to serve impoverished, abandoned and disabled children through donations, outreach, visitations and relationship.

The Light & Life Foundation supports Hogares Luz y Vida, a special needs orphanage, where every child has the right to be:

 Loved, Respected, Educated and

 Part of a Family
